how long have you been reloading

My first reloading adventure was about 1955 when I was around 14. I had a 45/70 Trap Door and reloaded black powder using a Lyman 310 tool.
I remember telling someone that the old tong tool took a lot of strength to close and then open again. They asked what kind of sizing lube I was using.
My response was “Lube???”:D:D

Cuban Missile Crisis
(AKA: the first Y2K and tinfoil hat time)
Hesus, Mary and Joseph!
I haven't thought about it in years, but I now recall my Dad taking me down to watch the U.S Army exercising it's NIKE Ajax and Hercules launch mounts on the Chicago lake front in the period! Underground rail SAM mounts around Diversey, Bemont and Lawrence Ave.(?)
Good Lord! I haven't thought about that in decades!
(EDIT)
Not a hijack, if anyones interested in those old missile emplacements on the Chicago lake front

I started reloading in 1959 at age 19, at first for .45 ACP with a Herters double ram press, then on a MEC 250 for 12 gauge shotshells. I recall paying $50.00 for the new MEC 250 and enough components for a case of shells. Since then, I've worn out the Herters press and an RCBS Rock Chucker as well as my old MEC 250. I have a Versa-MEC 700 and two RCBS presses now, with about 33 die sets and and 14 bullet moulds. I continue to enjoy shooting albeit I don't see quite as well as I once did.

started in 1963 with an old lee hand loader, 30/06, now I have a dillon 1000,650 and two 550's . still going strong

Powder, patch , ball - powder, patch, ball...

All seriousness aside, I started with some inherited Pacific equipment. Couldn't get used to that whole angled press thing. Bought a Rock Chucker a while back and have reloaded cartridges from .358 Norma Mag. to 6.5 x 55 Swede with a couple of handgun calibers in the mix. It's a fine machine... What'll they think of next??

I started about 23 years ago. I did it for a few years, then because of career kids etc. my stuff sat for about five years unused so I sold it. I started back into it about three years ago. I find it much more enjoyable this time around.

Loading

Started in 1963 using a Lee hand loader for 12 ga. Never quit. 99.8% of my CF shooting is with handloads. I only use factory ammo for game with my 7mm Rem Mag & for doubles trap at the state tournament.

Started out with some of my dad's old hand-me-down reloading equipment on a rickety wooden bench I made and put in my bedroom when I was about 14 years old. I'm 47 now. I'm still learning.

1961, Freshman in highschool. I bought a used Herters press and dies for .30-06.

My first load was 45 grs. of 4895 under a 150 gr. Remington RN bullet. It killed short range deer in the swamps and bayous like they had been struck by lightning.

Since then, I have worn out a MEC Grabber and currently have 2 Dillon 550s. One set up for large primer, the other for small primers. Between shotshells for skeet and pistol rounds, I have loaded over 100,000 rounds. No KBs and only one squib load.

Every bit of 2 weeks. I still have everything to learn. I purchased an excellent used Dillon 550 and most everythig I need for 9mm, 40S&W and 45acp.

I received a intense 4 hour intro into reloading by the guy who sold me the Dillon, including many cautions.

I got tired of going to the store and finding no ammo or having to pay twice what it cost a year ago. I figure I will pay off the investment in under a year and a half.

Store bought .45acp= $.45 to .47 for target loads. I can reload for about $.13 using range brass.

I was reloading shotgun in the early 90's but got out of that after a couple of years. Didn't start reloading metallic until 2006/2007. I have learned a great deal from the folks met here and other forums. What a community that would open it's arms and help someone out with all his stupid questions. Thank you all.

reloading

i started reloading in 1971,and casting bullets, and i am still at it.
RCBS ROCKCHUCKER, AND 4 DILLION SQUARE DEAL LOADERS,AND ONE LEE TURRET PRESS. TO ME IT IS AS MUCH FUN AS SHOOTING.
