How Long Should I Wait?

How long do you wait after the close of an auction on GB to contact the seller? I usually send an email as soon as the auction ends and send payment immediately. I won an auction 4/19. Sent the seller an email. No reply. Called his contact number and spoke to a female that stated he wasn't home. She asked me to call back and leave a message on the answering machine. I did. Still no contact. Sent another email early this morning. No reply. I obviously haven't sent him a penny. By contrast, I won an auction this morning and have already communicated with the seller and the payment is already in the mail.

At what point would you say "screw it"?

According to GB you should allow the seller 5 calendar days to respond.

I had a similar situation with a buy on GB a few years ago. It turned out the seller had been on a two week vacation and failed to mention that.

On the other hand the five day rule would apply and I don't think you would be obligated after that.
