How many AR mags do you suppose most people get for one?

I will say this.......I can NOT purchase a gun without immediately purchasing my chosen number of mags and ammo. Kinda like buying a roast and no potatoes or other vegetables.....It just ain't gonna happen. If I can't do the whole cha-cha at once, I keep saving 'til I can. I attribute this to my gun A.D.D. I can get more later, but the entry level must be maintained.

Im like that but it depends on the gun. If its a Glock or M&P 9mm i have no problem not buying mags right away. They are (were) readily available so im not worried.

Chance favors the prepared...................

You can't really have to many. They may well serve as valuble barter items, and if you have so many you can sell for a profit.
That said; my rule of thumb is to have 10 mags for each gun I have.
I keep 4 loaded with the gun, 2 with TAP and 2 with Ball.

Sounds like you have a good investment when you consider the current situation. I normally use 3 or 4 mags as range mags and just keep the rest as replacements. I try to have 10 or more for each firearm so I will have spares if one should fail. I have also held on to spare mags for various guns that I have sold. They are handy if I purchase another gun of that model and they have value to sell or trade if I need something else.

If you have mags you are selling, now is the time. I bought 3 30rd PMAG windowed gen 2's yesterday for $19.99 each. One of my gun ranges sent me an email saying they had some. I thought I stole them in light of current events.

I saw some used 30 rounders posted for $100 each on ebay and people seem to be buying them.

So to answer your question I have 6. I'd actually like to have some 20 rd mags which are easier to use at the range on a bench.

I have 8 magazines for each rifle. I do, however, prefer stripper clips to carry around. No sense carrying more weight than is needed and stripper clips work well and take up less space.
