How many is too many?

One for each day of the year, and I'm working on next year already

. You never have enough Smith's. When you go shopping for your fourth safe then you are allowed to ask the Question then LOL

.

when you forget how many you have, it could be too many. but i am willing to suffer with that problem.

I am still interested in your model 36!!! still can't seem to find one here in the charlotte area for a fair price...

You can justify having 2 by calling it a back up.

If having a back-up is logical, then what about a back-up for the back-up, then another back-up for the back-up of the back-up, then a back-up for the back-up for the back-up of the back-up, then...... do I need to spell this out further?
Can we come to the meetings of the mind that there's no such thing as a logical "too many"?

How many is too many? Is this a trick question of some kind.

I have a few J frames. About half or them are in this old photo

I have a few K and L-frames that I need to do a family photo of.

Then I have the N-frames. These I love.

Then there are the BIG BOYs, Yes I am talking about the X-frames. Like this 500 S&W Magnum

Like the old song says, "Too much is Not enough."

If you have an armory full of J frames, what business is it of anyone. "Gun people" (read true gun people, not just "hunters" or the liberal gun haters who want to ban all sorts of guns) understand and you don't have to explain, and the kind of people who do not understand do not need to know and if they do, you are a "collector" even if all you have is an arms room full of current, new in the box 642s. Remember, when "Saturday Night Specials" get banned you may suddenly find yourself with whatever you have being your "lifetime supply."

"Too many" is a nebulous concept, much like
"infinity".You can " approach it"
but never " arrive " at it.
Relatively speaking , of course.

If you like a certain model it can never be wrong to buy several. I like a little more variety, I like to have one of just about everything. So far I have limited myself to a medium sized safe that is FULL! So logically the next purchase has to be a new safe so I can begin the joy of searching for another gun. Money is an object only if you run out of it buying guns.

I am going to bring A LOT of stacic on myself with a few comments. First I admit to haveing a collection of guns far more than I can use. Also I admit I would like even more.
That said, I belive that once we have covered the basics of what we need we enter in another realm of conditions. Are we like the drunk or drugger that takes away from our family for our obsession? Once just before his crucifiction the deciples came to the lord and showed two swords. He told them it was enough. Are we totaly caught up on the bills? Do we have sufficent funds ratholed for emergency? Have we "stiffed" anybody? Are we worshiping our collection?
A couple days ago I spotted a new model 22 .45 ACP in nickle. I dont NEED it as I have many more that will do the same job. It has the hole. Yet it was about $675 roughly and I see the retail is close to $1,100!? It is pretty, and my favorite configueration! What to do?

You can have Not Enough, or Enough, or possibly More Than Enough. You might even be able to have As Many As You Want.

You can't have Too Many.

I think the idea of "too many," as it applies to guns, is a concept put forward by anti-gunners. And we don't want to play into their hands.
