How many rounds does it take to wear out a barrel

I have a S&W 22A that I have so far shot more than two cases (5250 rounds each) through. It was easy to recognize when the firing pin and the plastic recoil buffers needed replacement. But how many rounds does it normally take to wear out the barrel? What are good tests of barrel condition?

.22lr barrels have a long life expectancy.We had Winchester model 52's(club guns) with as close as l could estimate over 150,000 rds through them that we're still competative when sold a few years agn SB guns more damage is done by cleaning than by shooting.
