I cannot say for certain, but it seems entirely possible. I believe Federal now runs the Lake City arsenal, so production is definitely with a military priority.

Not for our ammo, is it?

I thought once the "anointed one" was inaugurated all wars that we started would cease. If they have ceased, how come we still need to make ammo for the armed forces?

Oh, yeah, those wars he promised would end are still going on! Which is fine as long as the leaders aren't lying to us about stopping them! ;)

NOTHING but 4 boxes of 209 primers at my local place this afternoon - and he receives his shipments on Tuesdays.

IF - again, IF - he received rifle or pistol primers, they were put aside for those smart enough to prepay and reserve them and/or his own retail reloading operation.

Here in N.W.Indiana the shop I go to (Kempf)has always had primers & powder Just picked up 1K winchester large primers for $34.95 .When I asked if he had any He said what brand and how many. He had to look up the price New shipment and they had drooped from $40.per K.I see that Cabelas has powder in stock in the store here but only had CCI -35 primers in stock .On Cabelas web site they are stating a 1 week delivery on primers . Hope things are starting to ease up.

I have seen ZERO primers at any store around here for a while. If/when they get any in, they must be holding them for favorite customers. At the last gun show, my buddy paid $60 for 1,000 small pistol CCI's. I can't even find small rifle or large pistol, which are what I need.

I just paid $33.95 for both large and small pistol primers in the local NE PA area.

Winchester primers are still unavailable. CCI and Remington are available at about $4/100, limit 4 boxes. Remington was not stocked before the panic.

BTW, Winchester primers started getting scarce and prices started increasing in early '06 here in western Oregon. Well before the panic. Something about a couple of wars I think.

No we are just moving the troops from one area to the other/next.:(

Y'all are starting to make me worried. I'm down to about 12K Wolf small pistol primers that I "panic bought" @ $17.50/K last October. Hope prices get back to normal before I need to restock. ;D

I hope that I am wrong, but I don't think we'll ever see primer prices @ $17.50/K again. I am just guessing but I think reasonable will be somewhere around the $27.95/K I paid last year at this time for Winchester Large Rifle primers. I hope that prices will be better than that, but I am definately not holding my breath.

Wild Sports in Orangevale limits 1000 winchester small pistol primers per customer per day for $45 when they have some in-stock.

I bought a brick last month for $45.

I have decided to shop elsewhere in the future and wait until
I find a better price for primers.

I picked up some Federal LP primers locally today for $3.29 per 100 pk. He had plenty of primers and powders but no .45 bullets. My next stop had a limited supply of Winchester primers priced at $4.59 per 100 pk. He was picked over on bullets and powder but did have 1 box of Hornady 200 Gr lead bullets in .45.

I visited 5 different shops across the southern half of the state in the past two days. Only one had any real inventory of primers and powder. I found one facory loaded box of .45 Colt, and 1 box of bullets between the other three shops. So its still pretty slim pickens here. West-Southern KY.

28$=1K

The prices at my shop have'nt changed all that much, the manufacturers have not raised prices.

Any more then a few dollars more then they were a year ago is price gouging......2c

The only shop within a hours drive that had them were limiting them to
5-100 packs of wlp per day at 4.00 per 100 got the last 5 today and owner threw in his last 100 federal match and a box of 38 wc I bought a
model 36 though

i havent seen any winchester primers here in a long time, sad part is thats all i use, wlp wsp, so now i buy what i can find. mike

I really messed up when I ordered a can of 231 and 1K WLPs from Cabelas. They only charge one $20 hazmat fee for both so they shipped the 231 and charged the fee, and put my WLPs on back order. The WLPs are $29. This was back in March. I talk to them every week with no results. I walked in a gun shop this week and there were some WLPs on the shelf for $49.95 per 1K. I feel like a fool, but I bought them because I haven't seen any in the Dallas area for at least a year. I will leave the other 1K on back order from Cabelas. I feel like a real moron for paying this much for primers, and feel worse for admitting that I did it.
