How much $$ do you pay for a gun transfer from ffl?

How does an ffl notnmake much money off of $35? It takes less than 30 minutes and just a phone call. Oh yes you have to file too, am I missing something?

I think the DROS is $25... could be wrong... you KNOW the state is gonna get their cut... they also have to store the gun for 10 days...

Maybe depends by state? Im fairly certain it costs little to nothing other than time. My range does it for free another ffl for 15. I dont think theyre losing money.

We charge $25.00. We have to receive the firearm, log it in, contact the buyer, do his paperwork, log it out, and maintain the records for 20 years or until we go out of business whichever comes first. This is a best case scenario cause sometimes we get guns with no FFL or copy of DL or contact info and we have to spend our time with that. Plus if the buyer doesn't have a N.C. CCW we have to call the FBI for a NCIS check. Plus we won't receive guns from "drop shippers" like Buds or some of the others who don't even own the guns they are selling half the time but are having them shipped directly from a distributor. Oh and not often but sometimes there's the mint condition gun that comes in not so mint and the seller wants to blame the dealer for messing up their mint gun. I think $25.00 is a bargain for the amount of work involved and the fact that one fine day ATF is gonna stop by for a week and you better have every T crossed and I dotted. And if $25.00 is just too much please get your own FFL and you too can be a wealthy gun dealer.

I pay 20 dollars total. 10 for the FFL and 10 for the call which the state charges him. But he is a good friend. I hate doing business with a gun shop and will not if at all possible.
