Greetings,

How much are good shooting grade .38/44 HDs (pre-war) going for? I am not looking for an excellent condition safe queen, or a limited production model, just a basic blued HD (5"?) with holster wear, dinged grips, minor ruts pits, that is still a nice shooter. I want to be able to carry it in a holster and not worry about it.

Thanks,

Hunter

Hunter:
I saw one at the Dallas show a few months back that was nice looking but had been refinished and had post war magnas for $650. I left it there.

I'd guess a pre war shooter grade HD would run you in the $700 range. At the last Tulsa show in April, I picked up a 1953 vintage shooter , 80%, original grips and a good bore and tight lock up for $400

Thanks for the offer PackN!

Unfortunately, my funds are limited right now.

I am just trying to figure out how much money to save for that special purchase sometime in the future.

A NAA Guardian (.32 acp ) for CCW and a lefty Stag AR-15 (SHTF/pending AWB II ?!?!) are higher on the list right at the present time.

I paid about $300 for this early '30s HD about 6 months ago. Someone modified the sights and stuck a target trigger and magna grips on it but for all that it is a sweet shooter. Has an excellent bore and chambers.

Hello all, I bought a 4" transition HD back in Dec with a bit of wear from lying in drawer for who knows how many years. It's about 75% and I paid $600.00 for it with Bowen in mind. All numbers match.
