Swung by the LGS the other day & they had just got a Mod 57(no dash), 6", in trade. Pinned barrel, no recessed, TT, TH and a pristine set of target stocks. I eye balled & didn't see too much wrong, until I turned it over, the sideplate and cylinder had some rather major cancer. My buddy told me it came in w/a set of Pachmayr Presentations so I'm guessing when you pull the stocks off you'll find more rust. They hadn't priced it yet, but I'm already thinking I'll pass on this one, (if it had been a 4'" maybe ...). So I got to wondering, what do you guys think would be a fair price? Thanks for the input!

OTD...from a retail shop... It would be hard to part with more than $350. And thats with a nice credit for the factory target grips.

But I'm cheap. Someone else might go up to $400. Tough to say without seeing the damage. Make sure there is no rust in chambers.

Mechanically very sound, no issues w/ bore or chambers, the rust on the cylinder looks to be from leaving it in a wet holster, (maybe??), sideplate is anyone's guess. The left side was nice, just normal holster wear on the muzzle & high spots, right side yuck!

Way too many variables to give you an appropriate answer.

A 57 no dash should be recessed for example
The target stocks if they are Cokes could be worth 300-600 on their own.

Without seeing it I would pass, money is better spent on a clean piece that will increase in value down the road.
