Depends on the gun. I wipe everyone down after shooting, Breakfree CPL. And about twice a year for my safe queens.

Revolvers get a complete cleaning when cylinder seems tight. A .22/45 at least every other time or it gets finicky.

My primary carry gun, a 3rd gen S&W, every 3 or 4 hundred rounds. It is ultimately reliable. Shoot 2 mags a week in some type of practice drill - live in the country so can shoot whenever I want. In the 15 or so years I've had it,it never had any failures to feed or fire.

As long as no rust there is really no reason to clean. 40 years ago I use to clean after each use. Now, no. All my guns still look new, except holster wear & normal use dings.

Retired -shoot twice a week- Wed- Thurs-Fri range not so busy. Clean guns every 4 th time? Always a quick wipe off every time.

It depends on which gun and what I've been doing with it. I'll admit I take better care of ones I have a sentimental attatchment to. Some I don't bother for a couple trips to the range, but I don't like to let guns sit around dirty. I'd rather not wait until rust starts to clean them. My carry gun gets cleaned regularly because it gets exposed to more enviromental abuse than my safe queens.

No system. Just clean them when I feel like I should.

Every time I use them, before they're put away.

Cylinder, bore, forcing cone, top strap, recoil shield, exterior wipe down, oil at key points, the bore and chambers.

Semi auto gets the rails, bore and firing pin/extractor, then a lube and oil the bore.
