How Rare Are WALNUT Coke Bottle Stocks?

"Rosewood" can come from several different trees. In the old days guitars were made of Brazilian rosewood which can vary from blond to red to dark brown. Now they are made of Indian rosewood. I'm not a S&W grip expert but do we know for a fact that S&W used "rosewood" and, if so, are we sure the difference is obvious, given how much both types of wood can vary in color and grain structure?

Sorry for the drift. I'd really like to see a picture of the OP's "walnut" grips.

This is a set I have that resembles walnut. Especially one side.

Mystery solved, they are plain old walnut diamonds. Could see it when I walked in. Must have had cokes on the brain back in the spring. I accused him of switching them out to avoid the mad rush to buy them! I won't tell you how much I was thinking of offering him, hopefully I wouldn't have done it over the phone. Thanks for the save guys.

It wasn't a wasted day, I had a bunch of NOS Smith parts given to me. Sight assemblies, triggers, hammers, hands etc. and some tools. I "think' for M66's and or M686's and the like. Of course I just bought a rear sight and hammer to convert my PPC gun back to stock.

Thanks,
