I have a 1994 29-6 Classic, the front sight blade has never been removed until now. It took a bit of effort and Rem Oil to loosen the blade and, now that it's out, I'd like to clean the plunger, spring, and recess before putting it back together. If it's a big hassle I'll just keep flushing with oil and compressed air till it's 'good enough'. thx - T.

The only thing holding them in would be dirt or oil. Normally those parts are free to go out to the pin.

I would spray solvent in there, then compressed air. Leave the pin in or cover the end for this operation, as the spring and plunger will probably try to escape. Wear safety glasses and keep everything pointed away from your eyes.

I would keep flushing, soaking, and spraying air till it was clean rather than risk marring the finish.
