Have a CMC trigger on the way. The safety needs to be removed to install the new trigger but I can't find any instructions on how to accomplish this.
Any help?
Thanks,

You have to loosen the grip enough so the detent does not catch it, then simply remove.

The safety detent and the spring that makes it work are held in by the pistol grip. Make sure you don't lose them when you remove the pistol grip. Best to have the lower receiver upside down when you remove the big screw that holds the pistol grip on. Slowly slide the pistol grip up away from the lower reciever. The Spring fits in a hole in the pistol grip that is not visible when the grip is in place. Carefully lift out the spring. Sometimes the detent comes out with it, sometimes not. The detent looks like a little torpedo. If it does not come out with the spring, carefully turn the lower reciever over and shake it till the detent falls out into your hand. The detent is all that holds the safety in place. After the detent spring and detent are removed, the safety will come out. Sometimes you have to turn it a little to have it clear the trigger.

Thanks to all. Mine has a hex screw holding the grip on ... Anyone know the hex size?

This is a 15-22 specific grip removal tutorial....the 15-22 has 2 springs in the grip, one for the safety and one for the rear takedown pin, so don't be surprised when two springs fall out ;)
