HOW TO REMOVE STAIN ON STAINLESS GUN

how do i get the stain from shooting off the
front and back of the cylinder,inside the frame
and other areas from my stainless revolver.
thanks for any help. don

Use a little Flitz and some soft cloth...then add elbow grease.
You won't hurt the gun... but you will soon learn that burn rings don't hurt anything or affect performance.

Chrome polish and a Q tip works well on the frame. Toothbrush will also work getting the frame and forcing cone area. Scotchbrite pad is good for the face of the cylinder.

the E/Z wipe is the best It will take even the burned powder off front of cyl.that take a little time but will do it. anyplace else is easy. Is called E-Z Brite by ADCO. DO NOT USE ON A BLUED GUN it will remove the blue rick

TODAY.THINGS WENT REAL GOOD.WORKED ON IT OVER 2 HRS.LOOKS ALMOST NEW. THERE IS A LITTLE LEFT ON THE FRONT OT THE CYLINDER AND I WILL TRY TO FIND
SOME E-Z BRITE. YOU ALL SAVED THE DAY,THANKS

+1 on the leadaway cloth...works well,not expensive and removes the deposits...just use great caution if its a blued gun as it can remove bluing

I have a stainless 627 with a compensator and it was a difficult pistol to clean. I also found that the lead away cloths did a good job cleaning the bead blasted finish. I now use Mil-Comm TW-25B both as lubricant and protectant and it works well in minimzing residue and buildup, and making the pistol easier to clean after shooting.

E Z brite and lead away is same. E Z was a brand that Jerrys had. AS said not for blued guns

Birchwood Casey makes the lead removal cloths (at least the ones that I use) and I found them at Sportsman's Warehouse and Cabela's.

I'm sure you could find them at some of the online stores like Midway USA, etc.

Unless I've been missing something over the past thirty years in regard to cleaning stainless revolvers... why would one keep buying Flitz, other polishes and special cleaning cloths?

Here's what I do:

Buy a stainless steel barrel brush in your caliber of choice and a stainless steel toothbrush type bristle brush. Clean your revolver as you normally would using Hoppes #9. You will be able to do a perfect cleaning job on any stainless revolver in a minimal amount of time with little or no added effort.

WARNING: Do not use stainless brushes on blued firearms! These brushes will remove the blueing.
