I note that there seem to be many attempts to sell used SIGMAs with negative results. Has anyone actually sold one in this forum or on other on line sites??? Where I see them for sale the asking price appears to be way too high--perhaps those weapons have gold plated strikers and diamond sights. Just an observation.

What is the general/considered opinion of the best way to sell a SIGMA and what price the market will bear for them???

I say don't. They aren't really worth anything, especially with the new SD9's replacing them. They don't eat much sitting there in the gun safe.

You can easily get $250.00 for a used Sigma, not much more than that. Depending on where you live you may have some type of online trader.

You can also use gun auction.com

Stay away from pawnshops as they will insult you with a ridiculous low offer.

Other than that I tend to agree on keeping it in the safe. It's really a decent gun and for what you get out of it, may be a better financial decision to hold on to it.

I traded 2 in on 2 Glocks, a G26 and a G30. I got $135 each for the Sigmas. Worked out to $788. out the door. They discounted the Glocks pretty good but didn't get squat for the Sigmas. Probably should have kept them but We only have guns for self defense and the Glocks work good.

Since they can be purchased new for about $300., I wouldn't pay more than $200. tops for a used one. And I'm not so sure I'd pay that much. Maybe $175 used. Then if you figure in trade in / retail, I think KyWstJoe did pretty good by getting $135. on a trade.

Seeing as I can get a brand new SDVE for $300 I wouldn't pay over $150 for a Sigma....with the release of the SD and SDVE their value is gone. Which is why I still have mine just not worth giving up a perfect functioning handgun for $200 or less.

Just picked up a little used 9VE for $222 out the door. Good utility piece at a good price.

Didn't bruise my ego at all.

Here's my 2 cents.

The other forum I hang around on has the Sigma come through FS/FT every once in a while. The asking prices are usually $250-$300. Sometimes 1 guy is dead set on a $350 firm. The $250-$300 range is selling (not like hot cakes) but they are selling. You would do better to sell on a online trading forum not this forum, lets face it 95% of this forum is under the impression the Sigma is total junk. Your LGS won't give you anymore than about $150.

I thought about selling mine just to have a something else. I would probably do a trade because no one would be willing to pay a little more for the work I've put into mine. All in all the Sigma is what it is. It's an entry level piece that has already been replaced. It won't be the 1911 that some expect it to be.

I say hold on to it or trade it for something else. Don't let some one try to beat you down to $135.

I sold my SW9VE in less than 12 hours.
Listed it on Armslist, got 3 calls and the first guy that showed up gave $280. for the gun, I paid $299. for it.

Wish I still had it, I don't shoot the M&P 9 I got nearly as well.

People that sale used Sigmas think they do not lose their value and try to sale it at the same price they bought it for. Really, if I were to sale my Sigma, I would place a price tag of $225 and call it good.

I just bought a used Sigma.........for the carrying case, the pistol, and 240 rounds of ammo, I paid $400. It was also through my wife's best friend's brother, so I was willing to give him that much. He used to do gun shows and says that these pistols are decent. I basically wanted one for a deer pistol, out to about 50 yards, protecting the home, and as a carry gun.

$400 is kinda high I paid $279 for mine brand new when they had the $50 or 2 free mag deal going on so I got 4 mags and gun for under $300.

nevertheless he made a deal with him so it didn't bother him, probably helped him out in his financial situation.

By the way he got almost 5 boxes of ammo with it.

jrpulliam- for the sake of wildlife everywhere, please don't turn your Sigma into a 50 rd deer pistol.

For 225$ its the best truck gun out there. Beat and bang and knock it if you will but it goes bang every time.

I have no problem paying what I did for it. I got a lot of ammo, a nice carrying case, and a decent gun. As for using it as a deer pistol, I will have to see how accurate this pistol is. At that point, I will make the determination about using it as a deer pistol.

What do you mean by deer pistol? What state lets you hunt deer with a 9mm handgun? Why would you even want to?
