This is something you won't see every day - a WW2 training film on how to unpack a P47 Thunderbolt from its shipping container in the field using standard hand tools and the shipping crate materials.
Uncrating and Field Assembly of the P-47 Thunderbolt Fighter - 1944 - YouTube
As a retired Manufacturing engineer, I found he insight that went into packaging an aircraft for shipment and assembly amazing. I spent 14 years on the F-22 program at Boeing here in Seattle where we assembled the aft fuselage and wings prior to shipping them to Lockheed for final assembly. The simplicity and utilitarianism of the WW2 days provide a breath of fresh air compared to the restrictive confines of today's reality.
