How you like me now!!

I believe all the Chevrolet Suburbans, GMC Suburbans and Cadillac Escalades are now assembled in Mexico only since GM closed their Janesville, WI factory.

To all you tree hugging, Birkenstock wearin' , tofu eatin, one square of toilet paper per visit, Chevy Suburban hatin' green livin', Prius driving, Earth friendly, global warming, save the polar bear know it alls-how do y'all like 'dem Prius's now!!!

Caje - don't hold back - tell us how you really feel!

So what makes it worse is knowing that a your tax dollars , under the "Cash for Clunkers" program went to pay for these foreign built cars. I swear we just keep gitt'n stupider and stupider.

i agree- my Nissan was made a few miles from where my father in law lives in TN and my Toyota was made a few miles from where I live, by Americans. (BTW Toyota is shutting down the Fremont CA NUMMI plant, causing many job losses as well as stress to all the local companies that supply materials, last car plant west of the Missisiple river)

BMWs in the Carolinas i beleive and Mercedes is building cars in Alabama

tell me about your Ford Truck that was made in Mexico or your Chevy Truck that was made in Canada ?

I'd rather have an import name plate made in America than an "American" nameplate made overseas

Note that I said "old bumper sticker".this problem has been festering for some time now. It's getting harder to Buy American every day.We all know how we got here;Unions,Gas prices,Quality and a host of other things like my favorite one's "Trade Agreements"and "Import Export Taxes"My point is We as a country are on the wrong track and it's easy to see that. What's hard to see is what to do about it.
As far as your last statement I'd like to see American cars and other products be "Made in America"by Americans with American ownership.

I've got an old bumper sticker that says,

"BUY AMERICAN THE JOB YOU SAVE COULD BE YOUR OWN"

Maybe just maybe we'll get the message before it's to late.
Then we can start producing instead of consuming.

That being said,We need fair trade agreements.

Gotta go to work now and install some foreign s... and it makes me sick.

I agree. And when I get ready to buy a new full sized pickup I'm going to buy one made in America and with the most American made parts = Toyota Tundra.

Best thing about the "Cash for Clunkers" program is we got rid of 95% of the Obama bumper stickers.

And Toyota Tundra=Japanese ownership.

I liked things the way they were.Is it to late?Probably.Do I like it?No.

There's a couple of "smart cars" where I work. The first time I saw one, I wondered if a mower deck was an option. One of the owners admits that several other cars-actual cars-get better fuel mileage.

Several months ago someone published tests where they ran smart cars into other cars. Head ons with a Toyota Corolla caused the smart car to do a 540 degree flip. Wonder if anyone builds a burial vault to take one?

Meh, I have a midsized 4 door that can get in a foot of snow with no problems but can also get 24MPG on the freeway. Win, win for me!
