Howdy from Colorado

Welcome from another Koloradoan ... It's getting crazy here right? I live across the street from Magpul in Erie... Sorry to see a great neighbor and company leave because of our lame "representatives." Welcome to a great resource and community!

The crackhead Democrat state legislature is making it intolerable. Denver culture rot is contaminating the whole state, and the state repeatedly electing Denver liberal mayors the governor's office isn't helping. These clowns should be quarantined.

Welcome from Texas Fantabulous. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Well, I think you will fit in just fine round here.

Have you thought of writing about your journey from liberal to gun owner? You might clarify some other folks thoughts as well.

It's a rather long story but basically I began seeing foundational problems with liberalism/leftism. What I was very committed to on a moral basis I discovered by critical thinking was making strictly political moves and using morality as a cloak and a pretext. The moral outrage of the moment depends on the politics of the moment, and the morality is never consistent, and in that inconsistency there is a consistent political pattern which precisely fits the aims of the left.

The loud moral outrages are feed for the hens, and nothing more. It's not the real reason behind anything going on. In order to see this, you have to think critically and pay more attention to what they aren't saying than what they are. The lack of moral consistency then begins to emerge and scream at the top of its lungs.

Racism is a moral outrage, but only alleged racism from whites is mentioned?

"Homophobia" is a moral outrage, but only alleged homophobia from Americans and other capitalist countries is mentioned?

Same with mistreatment of women, people of minority religions, "xenophobia" and so on.

It's all a con.

Welcome from Missouri, Fantabulous. You have found a forum of like minded people knowledgable in all things S&W. I think you have made a good, adult decission concerning gun ownership and the failures of the liberal left. Welcome to the Right, we need more like you!

Thanks, all! Is it just this thread or does this forum not have a lot of westerners?

I don't know if anyone has figured out the demographics of this. There are a number of members who don't list a location but I do see a fair number of "west of the Mississippi" members. Oh, BTW welcome from another "Westerner" :)

Welcome from Fort Collins! Excellent intro post, very well written, you should share your story with Dudley Brown from RMGO, Yours could be a very useful testimonial that could help overturning some of these recent laws!

Welcome from Missouri Fantab.

Very well organized and thought out statement. I think you have a new part time job. Lots of folks would love to hear information from one who learned on their own. Newspapers or magazines etc. can always use material from fresh new sources.

Your preface of I'm a woman lets all know what side of the gender fence you came from. But it may not be necessary, being a woman has not hindered my wife or three daughters.

I was adamant with my daughters that they are a person first and foremost. If one can't figure out they are a lady that is already a dead end path.

All three have done well, one is a Bank VP. The other 2 are Nurses like their Mother and also are in management.

What do these ladies have to do with you? The similarities are, they have their goals in life, they work their goals as any person should, they make up their own ideas from observation and use that to set goals. With this in mind I really like how you have become more insightful about life and how the actions of a few impact the life of many. I really think your powers of observation and ability to capture it in writing is a gift. Please continue writing, use the power of the keyboard to get your message to as many as possible.

And Howdy is heard in Missouri but not often enough west of the Mississippi.

Howdy and welcome to the forum Fantab.

I joined the RMGO this year. I did a lot of email writing during debates for that junk legislation and only had one response. I really do think the Democrats were ignoring emails.

I veered so far left in the late 90s I considered myself a Marxist for several years. My mother was an immigrant with a 4th grade education and knew nothing of politics, political lies, and media propaganda. I had to figure out out on my own in a process. Books like Larry Elder's Ten Things You Can't Say in America and David Horowitz's Hating Whitey and Other Progressive Causes helped me. Horowitz is a former Marxist and explained some things I was confused about regarding ulterior motives.

Thanks for your efforts, but I feel the same way. Thats why you should bring your story through the RMGO, Dudley will find a way that is much harder to be ignored! Have been a member for about 4 years, a CO resident for about 6.

Honestly I don't know if I have much of a story? I was born and raised in Colorado and do not like what this state is becoming. It rather turns my stomach. None of these wacky laws would have passed even 20 years ago, I don't think.

I went to the range last week with the AK and fired off 60 rounds. It was flawless. First time I fired a rifle ever so I am getting used to the factory sights on it but am improving my aim. Very nice rifle.

I'll be heading to the range on Monday to try out the Crimson Trace on the S&W 640.

We've been over run.Ive watched people move here over the last 30 years claiming they didn't like where they had been. Then they immediately start turning Colorado into the place they just fled. They usually move on after 7 years.
