I have two S&Ws. Model 317 2" in .22 LR and a 3" Model 65 with a grommet trigger job and a bobbed hammer. I am looking for white checkered grips for the 65 to keep it from printing under light summer shirts. If anyone knows a source I'd appreciate the info.
I've owned two Model 29s: 4" nickel and 3" blue. I had a 6" magnaported barrel put on the 3" but it never really balanced. I owned a model 39 for a short time. The 4" 29 was the most accurate pistol I have been associated with. I could put six rounds in a gallon paint can lid at 100 yards all day long. Used to aggravate the guys sighting in their deer rifles. The stock grips were fine and so were the Pachmayrs I had on it. When I served I carried it under in a Bianchi shoulder holster under my field jacket. I lived on the economy in Germany and wanted to make sure I had something to get back to post with on an alert.
357/38 is more my speed these days.
Glad to be here.
