Hey guys. I'm the newbie. Joined because I need a handgun identified so I was rootin around. I do love my S&W's though and have enjoyed reading here. You guys know a lot!
Have a 4" 19-3 Nickel .357 coming today that I couldn't live without. Anyway, I can't ID this handgun. No model # that I can see. SN on bottom of grip and barrel is C 90361. It has .38 S&W SPC CTG stamped on the left side of the barrel. Any help?

Welcome from Iowa.
That is a Military and Police revolver. It was born probably in about 1950. It has no model number stamped because S&W didn't start using model numbers until 1957. At that time it became the M10.
That looks like a nice one.:)

If you are very serious about documenting your new puppy - you can Request a Factory Letter which will research the date of manufacture, first recorded shipment destination, etc.

Thanks. I don't think the gun's worth investing $50 in getting a letter from S&W.

Welcome from Texas wvgunner. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Nice revolver, good shape for it's age.

Yeah it was clearly manufactured before 57. I've done a little reading on it thanks to you guys. Thanks a bunch! Got my 19-3 nickel .357 yesterday morning. Now I just have to wipe my drool off of it.
