Was flipping through the channels this morning and came across Ambush Bay with Hugh O'Brian and Mickey Rooney. I know Mr. O'Brian served in the Marine Corps in WWII and has some sort of scholarship for high school kids connected with the Marine Corps League.

I watched an interview with him a few years ago about his role in the 'Shootist' I remember he said he was so honored to be in the picture he didn't take a salary.

Most of us remember him as Wyatt Earp, like James Whitmore and Brian Keith they don't make stars like that anymore.

He is still alive by the way as far as I know, I just have not posted anything in awhile and saw one of his movies on the TV.

I saw that movie as a kid. one scene really bothered me. Some cute asian babes were swimming around a Japanese boat with a couple guys on board with machine guns. They're all happy then for fun a Jap sprays the girls with lead. I think they were instantly killed by O'Brien and Co. My wife insists Hugh O'Brien is gay. I don't know where she got that. I don't think so and care even less.

Quite a Run!...

Hey Stan!

I did a little reading on this topic and it seems Mr. O'Brian has had quite a storied life.... He attended the same high school as Rock Hudson, Charlton Heston, Ann Margret, went from being the youngest Drill Instructor in Marine Corps history to a soda-jerk at Schwab's drug store on Sunset Boulevard. Served in the Corps for 4 years from 1942.

He dated Marilyn Monroe, was the last man killed on screen by John Wayne and married for the first time when he was 83...

Quite a guy, a Fine American and a Real Patriot.

I heard, and this is just hear say that he was closer to Rock Hudson than the other classmates.

Hugh Who? I never watched "Wyatt Earp" and I can't think of anything else I ever saw him in.
