Besides being a talented artist, Larson's mind amazes me. Where he comes up with this stuff is simultaneously hilarious and mind boggling. I love the time machine / out of gas one!
His mind is like few others'! I have a collection called "The Pre-History Of The Far Side." In it, near the beginning I think, his cartoons were called "Nature's Way" and he was very motivated by MAD Magazine as a kid. He really beat the pavement selling his craft before getting syndicated. It's probably better for all mankind that he used his demented type humor to make us laugh, rather than be an "unsub" on "Criminal Minds!" His IQ is probably higher than the average Joe's I would think!

Pete, that was an awesome spread. Number four with the sinking tow boat parts is a sleeper. But I think number one for the win

When I was a kid living in Jamestown RI in 1960, a pleasure boat hit a mine near the mouth of the harbor which had been all mined during the war. Obviously they missed one. Killed a whole family

Always loved #3, but I always wondered where he’s heading with the gas can, maybe a deceased dinosaur.
I don't understand #5; all Simmons has to do is roll around or walk barefoot in the haystack.

Number 2, my sister used to leave them around when we were kids, about 60 years ago.
