Personally I like #2. Shades of people with 35 mm cameras trying to check if there is film in the camera. Saw this quite a few times when working as a chemist at Ilford Ltd back in the early 1960s synthesizing photoactive emulsions before the advent of return mirrors in 35 mm cameras. Dave_n
