Humor 4/30

#4 made me think, "The lookout must have been a lawyer" as I remember a joke that defined a lawyer as "A proponent of the theory that black is white."

Can't remember where I read that but I vaguely recall a little book of humor written by an actual small-town lawyer in rural Kentucky or Tennessee (??) who wrote under the name of "Burpee" That ring a bell with anyone?

Decades ago I read a long screed on those who practice law and that bit about arguing black is white was part. IIRC it was supposed to be part of the laws of the Duchy of Lichtenstein and forbid their presence and practice.

I am gradually remembering tiny bits of what this guy wrote but darned if I can remember where I saw it. I remember him quoting alleged letters of complaint about various local annoyances that bothered him or his wife. I think he was an actual lawyer but wrote funny stuff on the side.
