Last week Regis Giles from the "Girls Just Wanna Have Guns" website asked readers to submit photos of kids with guns as a show of support for the Moore family in New Jersey whose home was raided by the Department of Youth and Family Services. The raid was prompted a photo that the dad posted on Facebook showing his 11 year old son Shawn posing with what appears to be a M&P 15-22 a rifle.

The reader's photos are sure to make the anti-gunners heads spin...

As my old boss used to say when negotiating with upper management " you don't have to stick a stick in their eye".

Your link didn't work for me. This one does.

Hundreds of Parents Send In Photos Of Their Child With A Gun

That little kid, wearing the ball cap that says POLICE. Suppose that's real? Looks to be a Glock (to me) but the kid (I ain't sure whether it's a boy or girl) looks to be about 3 or 4. Just wondered how (s)he could handle it.

edit: I think it's a girl. Looks like a ponytail out the back of the cap.

Most take anything reported by FOX news with a grain of salt.
At most the incident was a admittedly heavy handed attempt at a preliminary investigation by a child protection agency backed up by local police because the anonymous tip mentioned firearms
The child's father later admitted that he called the police chief the next day to apologize for his behavior and shoots with some of the very same officers at the local sportsman's club. There was no raid.

Did they police ask to see inside his locked gun cabinet? Where a child could not get? Did police show up on his door step?

Some folks may take things said by Fox News with a grain of salt. Sometimes I do, depending on what was said. However, the folks I run with show much more distrust and disdain in what is said by MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, and other leftist agenda driven news sources. From what I've seen, Fox supports 2A much more than the others. If they can do away with 2A they can do away with the other amendments.

We have several 6 yr+ olds shooting 22 "s at our club, safer than a lot of adults I''ve met in my life. My son shot his first deer at 9 yrs old with a 32 spec. marlin. I don;t rember when i didn;t have a 22 to shoot. There are guns and kids at our house, If you are responsible parents and teach your kids to have some values and respect, it works out. It's the ones that are never allowed to be around guns that are dangerous when they happen to find them.

Agreed and I read all with an equal grain, attempting to separate the grain from the chaff. However just because FOX seems 2A friendly and makes sympathetic sounds make them more unimpeachable that the others?.

I take everything I read here with a grain of salt, especially if it was written by cajunlawyer, jimmyj, or saxonpig. :D

Mr. Moore was on the "Blaze" (Glen Beck) network on the Wilkow program a day or so ago. He stated that he was at work when the "Group" came to his house and that after entering the house and looking around, They requested to look inside his gun safe. His wife called him at work and told him the people in the house wanted him to return home and open his safe. He stated that he was the only one with the combination. He did return home and refuse to open the safe.
(Another story that WAS NOT on Fox)

I would urge you to log on to Today's Philly Daily News and scan the front page for another slant on the story and the man.

I looked at the pictures referenced in the opening post. I like children. But the image I liked most was "sniper dog." It put a smile on my face.

I would definitely take that story with a grain of salt. A lot of loose statements by the police. If Moore had a beer with lunch, then he'd have the odor of alcohol* on his breath.

The rest is just rumor and conjecture.

*Before anyone mentions it, I know alcohol itself has no odor.
