Never been an avid hunter. But I have had some experiences and some things that they all have in common is that they all required hundreds of miles to get there and back. They all required a substantial amount of time and money getting all the gear sorted out, packed up and loaded...goin' and comin'. At least one whole day cleaning up all the gear and putting it away.

Today I put all that behind me. Due to my new country home I can now hunt off my back porch. A few days ago we noticed a coyote crossing the pasture in front of my house (1st pic). He would trot up the driveway go between the house and the garage (2nd pic). Then he would proceed across the back yard down the hill across the fence and in to the back pasture. (3rd pic. The 4th pic is my hunting position on the back porch.

Preparation takes about 5 minutes and at the end of the hunt I just walk in the back door, lean the shot gun up against the wall in the utility room by the back door and take my empty coffee thermos into the kitchen.

The wily ol' coyote didn't come by today but I never had a more relaxed and enjoyable hunt. All the comforts of home at my finger tips. No muss no fuss no bother. I gotta te' ya, this is my kind of hunting. He keeps coming around I will get him sooner or later. No hurry, It's a great way to spend a couple of hours in the morning.

Is the house next door to you for sale?

There is no house-next-door per se. This is a family compound. About 30 acres. 5 houses all separated one from the others by woods. The plan is to keep all 5 houses in the family. We have mostly been up here for about 40 years. New generations that come along take over the houses of those that pass on. It'd kind of carved in stone that we won't sell to anyone not in the family.

I get it Jack.

Know well how fortunate situations come to be.

Planned and earned, luck has little to do with it.

Enjoy, and thanks for the reply.

You can hear more gunshots here than Detroit, DC or LA. The difference is that nobody up here is shootin' at people... mostly the occasional varmint or just some one plinkin' at the target set-up down in the lower pasture.

Real men love cats??? Well, I'm pretty darn sure I'm a real man, but...
the only reason I don't like cats is that I can't seem to find a really good recipe ! 😂
