It's coming up the coast so don't wait till the last minute to get in some supplies. Make sure the storm drains are open and don't drive through flowing water. Hoping all of you will be safe because 10" of rain is lot of water.

Post some pictures if you can.

A Cat. 3 in the central Bahamas over the warmest water ever recorded since the 1880's would have me buttoned up and ready to hunker down by now except for a front pushing through in the next day or two virtually assures no impact here except some drier air and some long period swells.
I keep seeing the track pushing more to the east, am really hoping that trend continues. Nothing to do except watch carefully and hope a ridge over Newfoundland builds enough to keep the US coast on the weak side of the storm as long as possible.

Might as well stock up on beer & rum anyway... ;)

All I know is a couple people I know that work for the power company are mobilizing for a potential trip to the coast.

This thing could be real bad for those costal folks.

Where I live best bet it will just be some serious rain. the reservoir I live by is quite low and it has lots of capacity to hold water.

That's always good advise! One of the forecast models has the dang thing running right over top of us here in central Pa, I like the european model that has it tracking off the coast. As usual we will have to wait and see.

It's official...this storm will come right up the Chesapeake Bay...I just finished grading all my gravel roads.....and planted a 2 acre feed plot for the deer.

We've already had about 3 or 4 inches of rain from the stalled cold front as well as about the same amount last weekend. If it runs over us and the wind is cat. 1 or 2 we'll have lots of trees down. Ground is too saturated to hold the root structures in place. Latest forecasts has it more out to sea. Let's hope they are right.

We judge the storms by the Navy base at Norfolk. If they start taking the ships out into the ocean to ride it out, it's gonna be a bad un. Luckily, it seems to be tracing more east, so hopefully just a lot more rain for us. Yea:D:D:D

Living on the NC coast, I'm planning on watching ALOT of rain, reading, TV (if power stays on) and visiting the S&W Forum.

Hard to believe an unlikely US landfall is predicted before the storm has even shifted direction north.
Hope the experts are right, they are, after all, the gov't and they're there to help.
Some fierce winds for a time over a long reach of water should result in some beat up coastline from the Carolinas to Jersey. Better than a blowhard visitor name of Joaquin screwing up a weekend.
