Hey everybody!!!!Haven't posted here in a while;so thought this was something I could get some help w/from some of our pet owers here..
I was in Frederick,Md. for about 3 months working on the Mirant Power Project when I came home to a new pet..A 5 mth. old Hybrid pup.. He's mother was a german shepard from Va.;which weighed between 80-100lbs. And the father is out of Canada and is a full blooded timber wolf;which weighed between 100-120lbs...And @ 5mths.;He's hitting about 55-60lbs.He's bigger than my rotti/pit in height;and she's 1 1/2 yrs..He's really smart for he's age;but likes to ramble quite a bit..What should I expect as he gets older..She had him crate trained in a 2 wks.,shakes, stays and lays on command..Wonder if he has potential for a K-9 police dog?Anybody else have any?I posted this in the gafourm in the pet section;found out that their illegal to own in Ga.Did'nt know that was why I wasn't getting any responces

I thought you were going to ask about the battery driven cars and was going to give you my 2 cents worth.

Nice pup you got there. Had a friend who had a dog that was mostly wolf. One day he brought it to work and during break I was petting him. I then came up with a bright idea to take out some of my coyote bait scent and put a few drops on the parking lot dirt. The wolf went bazark! Started sniffen, rolling, digging, rolling, sniffen, slobering, barking..It was quite the site to see. Guess he thought he was back in the wild woods or something.

Anyway, can't help ya out much.

A friend of mine has one that's just a baby. He's huge but he's calm as could be. He is also terrified of the water. They had him on a pontoon boat in the middle of the lake. My friend got up and ran off the back of the boat to go swimming. The dog took off right after him into the water. It freaked out and like to of drowned my friend while he was trying to get him back in the boat. They don't take him to the lake any more. My only reccomendation it to keep with the training and make sure he always knows that you and your wife are the boss. He's got a long ways to go before he's full sized so you want to be sure you can keep him under control.

I didn't think anyone bread hybrids 50/50, most are like 25% wolf. He's a good looking dog and I'm sure he's just going to get better with age/size, can't wait to see him in a couple of years when he's all filled out.

Fine looking pup, Geronimo!

My BIL had a hybrid for many years. The sweetest dog you could ask for. Loved kids and protective.

At about 2 years of age, they had a problem with geese nesting around their pond. BIL chased off the geese and showed the dog the eggs in the nest. No more problems with geese for over 10 years! She absolutely loved fresh goose eggs and learned to wait until the eggs had been laid.

The way I understood it;the owners of the shepard where on vacation there with some frinds who owned the wolf since it was a pup.And as she was in heat;they said what the hell;why not!!!
As for terrified of the water;can't keep him out of it and the mud..
