Hydraulic Buffer?

What are the general impressions of the Spikes ST-T2 Buffers ?
I have a Larue AR with a plain H Buffer in it.

ST-T2 is filled with high-density tungsten powder for extra weight 4.1 oz.

I don't have the Spikes (opted over name for a lower price same bang for the $$$). Have a different brand of the same weight and it works good if you are NOT shooting too light of a load. Anything heavier is more for semi-auto and full auto.

Take note. It's NOT the same as these two other buffers. There is no hydraulic buffer like the Enidine Restor . It's also not captured like the JB buffer (which is also not hydraulic like the Endine Restor).

Like I mentioned.. I was really Surprised how much I noticed the difference in the Carbon 15 AR....

I am also hoping the JP Tuned Spring will make a Noticeable impact as well...

Stav, the JP spring should definitely make a difference in the sound that the buffer makes. It eliminates the spring-loaded curtain rod raspiness and changes it to a more pneumatic sound.

I'm still planning on getting the Endine Hrdro Buffer. From what I read,it should help some what and it's one of those "Toy" things to see what its got.

Next,I plan on playing with an adjustable gas block. The buffers would be nice to have on hand for switching around and back and forth.

Once things settle down. I want to build a 24" heavy upper.

Okay what does the M&P 15's stock buffer weigh anyways? I don't have a scale.

This might help some. I have seen different weight attached to different brands for "H" versions... "Normally" an H2 is plenty.

Intended for use with AR15 carbines equipped with collapsible buttstocks
3 oz Version is the standard AR15 OEM buffer
3.8 oz Version is equal to the "H" buffer
4.5 oz Version is equal to the "H2" buffer
5.4 oz Version is equal to the "H3" buffer

Well Buffer is on its Return trip Home to jaPes this week.


I was able to Take it out again yesterday

about 80 more rds in it..

I really Like the way it Helps my Carbon 15... Mine should be here today with the JP spring..

Cant wait to test em both out together and separately..

Buffer is going on the C15 for sure... we shall see if it will be matched up with the Spring or Not

I have not tried the JP captured.... But I do know the AR-Restor does work...

Figured i'd try the JP Spring also....

Just thought I'd pass this on. Brownells and Midway show the collapsible srock Endine as discontinued. Prices have jumped to $100 for existing in stock items. Even more on other sites.

I haven't used the AR-Restor but have used the JP Captured Recoil Buffer. It has almost no recoil and works wonderfully. No FTE/FTF and was able to do multiple mag dumps without any malfunctions.

here's a video of me testing out the JP CRB and Seekin's brake I had just installed. I figured what better way then a mag dump to test reliability.

also fwiw in response to the post above that said they couldn't find replacement springs.. just checked and JP has replacement springs available for fine tuning the captured recoil buffer.

If you look at Nokick.com they have the hydraulics in stock and they dont mention anything about the endine being discontinued...I wonder if they have become the sole distributor!!!

Checked and yes the have them. They're $60 more than when I bought mine 4 months ago.
