I added this 1903 Colt last week (A lady friend who has an estate sale company....(I taught her children)...... calls me when she has old pistols. I have an FFL. The one side is perfect. the other side and one side of the mag is not so perfect ....date is 1916?. The barrel is like glass and functions with no problems. I paid 200 and I will probably sell it eventually, but for now I think I'll just let it alone......To shoot, carry or as a house gun.........Everyone needs a bad boy in their collection!
Thanks for looking,
Joe

I've seen a Weatherby rifle that looked like that after being stored in it's box and foam material for years in a hot attic.
It still shot great though.

Yep, looks like classic storage corrosion, one side lying on a cloth or other moisture-conducting surface. Too bad, as the unaffected rest is excellent for the vintage. Given what you paid for it, still a deal.

1918 date of manufacture. I have one that was carried and has finish wear and pitting as well. Still shoots well even with the tiny sights!

Colt 1903s tend to run forever, regardless of their exterior condition. At worse you may have to replace a spring or two.

For $200 I'd buy it for parts alone.
