I almost passed out...Case of Colts !!!

Worked for Colts Security in 1976. Saw plenty of them on a day to day basis. Could have bought them at employee prices but did not buy a single one. If I knew then what they would cost today. purchases would have been made.

I've told my wife if anything happens to me, contact a well established gun auction. I've gone to two gun auctions in my time, and couldn't touch a single lot. The prices just go crazy.

Agreed. The only auction I attended I was S&W naive. I missed what could have been a great deal. I say could have been, because I don't know how much higher the bid would have gone if I bid more than $700 for the Model 41 in 22 short. It had the box and was in great shape. I had no idea what they were worth and already had two 41s. That one still keeps me up at night.

A friend of mine retired years ago and has plenty of money and toys. At the last gun auction he was there two days and bought a German beer stein! Even that was $300!!

You can't even buy anmo at auctions. Guys pay over retail for it and that's been since before the shortage.

I can't really say anything as the photos are gone.

Another approach would be to go get pancakes and make sure that you are wearing your NRA hat. After eating your pancakes, tell the waiter that you wish to speak to the owner to tell him how great your meal was. If the conversation leads to Colts, so be it. (You might mention that you are heading to the range after breakfast.)

You beat me to it. I would buy three or four Colt T-shirts and eat pancakes every week end there wearing a different Colt shirt.

Yikes! What a snake den you have there! Stunning.

I owned a 1980 manufactured Royal Blue 8 inch Python back in the early 90's. Bought it for $400, kept and shot it for five years and sold it for $850 when I needed a new camera and lens for my job. Still miss seeing it in my collection. My old 1954 Official Police 38 Special is the only Colt D/A I still have.
