I have my fathers 38 special that my sis ter had when she just passed.
The pistol s in excellent condition. The serial number starts with a V, so I think it is a WWII model. Any help to identify the age would be appreciated.
Let me know what info. you need to identify it.

Thank you

You are correct in thinking that it's a WWII revolver. It's called a "Victory" Model. Can you tell us all the markings it has? This will help determine if it's military issue, or if it was issued to a civilian agency during the Wsr.

Being a "Victory" model it was made between 1941 and 1945. Do you really need to know closer than that? If you do we need the full serial number.

Sorry to get back so late.
It is stamped 38 S.&W. special CTG.
It isn't blued but more of a military issue grey.

Thank you

It also has a 6 stamped on the butt of the handle and inside where the cylinder opens
