Last year I found and purchased an I-bolt 30.06. When I saw the rifle and looked it over I liked it very much. I don't have any considers with it but just don't know lots about it, limited to the manual. I did replace the scope with a Nikon prostaff.
Seem like a decent setup, just looking around for the input of other owners of these.

I have one, about 11 years old, I have it scoped with a old Weaver 6X steel tube scopes, you know, the ones they used to hammer nails with in commercials. Actually 6X is probably a little high and a 4X, or newer variable might have served me better. The stock is synthetic and quite lightweight.
After playing around to find the ammo it "likes" I started to get 2" groups at 100 meters which I think is just great, Fooled a little more with ammo and got groups down to 1.25", seems to like the heavier (160-180) Federal loads best. Put a good sling on it and have never looked back. Very simply, I like it a lot. In todays' market I would have to spend at least $6-800 to duplicate it without an optic. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It may require some serious searching for the ammo it likes, or maybe you can do better handloading. Overall, I would give it an "A" rating. In addition to the above I did shorten the stock a little so I could use it wearing body armor, but haven't yet and the shorter LOP also serves me well with heavy winter clothing. The 6X Weaver gets me anything I want out to 300 meters, and I am sure I could do better, but at my age nothing past ATV range gets a pass in honor of my old (and getting older) knees. After you get it dialed in with the optic of your choice and the ammo it likes, you will have a ball.

I've had my .30-06 i-bolt for quite a few years. Initially I had a problem with light primer strikes using Remington Core-Lokts, in fact, I lost a nice shot at a buck because of it. S&W made good on repairing it, however, and it's become my "go-to" hunting rifle ever since. For New York whitetails in my neck of the woods, .30-06 is probably a bit much, so I'll probably be leaning more toward my .243 Remmington in the future.

I like the innovative design for removing the bolt, but quite frankly, I could do without the recessed swivel mounts. The only swivels I've found that work are Hush-Stalkers. In a perfect world, I could share a sling between rifles using Uncle Mike's swivels, but they won't work with the i-bolt. Other than that minor complaint, it's a great rifle.
