I was in one of my regular pawn shops today. They had a 18-3 with a fair amount of bluing wear. This 651 and the blued version which I will assume is a 51. I'm sure I have heard of these before but I don't remember it. A J frame square butt 22 mag. The price was fairly high I thought, but the guy dropped it $100 when I asked if he could come down. I'm not an impulse buyer, but I was today. I paid $800 for it. I hope I did OK. It is pretty clean. I can't wait to try it out tomorrow.

Sweet revolver and fair price.

4" barrel on a .22 WMR really offers a good performance bump over .22 lr.

I do not understand why S&W won't make a 4" J frame .22 WMR these days. I think a scandium kit gun with a 4 inch barrel in .22 WMR would sell very well.

Well, that's a fair price, they ain't making any more of 'em. I haven't seen one locally in years. It is a loud little rascal…

About 35 years ago I got a 651 for free in a Gun Trade. The trader wanted my 6" 19 and he had a 67 and the 651.

651 is noisy and not as accurate as a 22 LR.

I also have 651.
Yes it's noisy!
And ammo costs way more than 22LR.
It when you want just a little more get up and go - it's handy to have.
