I bought a 625-8 last Saturday and the seller included 100 full moon clips. He also sold me a holster and 4 Dillion Moon Clips D. 6-shoot moon clip holders.
Does anyone know how these things work? Messing with the moon clips has already drawn blood lol.

You got a good one there! With the moon clip loaded you simply line up the cartridges with the grooves on the holder and press down untill seated. A mooning and demooning tool takes the pain away from loading and unloading the clips. You can make your own or buy them. Theres a lot of info on them here just run a search on moon clips.

I've got some of the same holders. One side goes over the belt. The white plastic star lines up the rounds in the moon clip. If you want to carry them so they don't bounce out, push down till the top part clicks over the top of the rim. On the firing line, I don't push 'em down that far and they'll nestle for easy retrieval without resistance.

I've seen some put two cartridges over the outer edge, so they are ultra easy to retrieve for rapid use. More prone to jiggling out if you move a lot. Some speed steel stages don't require any movement other than upper body.

A little practice & you'll see lots of ways.

Good choice, BTW!!

For competition I remove the white plastic insert and just hang the moons over the front edge of the holder. To fill the moons without drawing blood I place the cartridge on a piece of scrap wood and push the clip down over the round until all the slots are filled. Dillon usually has several moon related accessories that will make life easier.

An alternative, if you are not shooting competition, or do not need a fast reload, is to shoot 45 AR in your 625. Starline sells the brass and they function flawlessly. I have tried 45 AR and love it.

Congratulations on getting a fine revolver!

Get one of these Moonclip Tools, moon, demoon in one very well engineered and manufactured tool.

Here's mine, had it for years:
