I Cleaned Out The Cruiser Today.

Charlie, our lives never crossed, but I feel a bond that others know, too. Good luck in your retirement, I made mine happen over five years ago and do not regret a day of the new life. We moved to be close to our two sons and it, too, was one great move. Enjoy each and every minute you are upright, you deserve it. 10-42, Charlie.............

Very well said Sir. Hats off to you for all those years of service.

Congrats on tyin down the brake and Thanks for all those years of service. Lookin forward to your book and more tales.

Charlie,
Great Post, I have many friends in Law enforcement in Georgia, I know and have seen of what you speak..!!!

Congratulations on your 40 plus year career and retirement.!!!! You have most definitely earned your retirement, enjoy it in good stead.!!!!

Thanks for your service,
Paul

Charlie, I hope you find retirement as rewarding as your career. Sounds like you are going to be plenty busy with children, grandchildren, not to mention fishing, gun shows etc.. I sure hope you find time to write that book, I would wait in line to buy it. Best wishes.

A remarkable career, many memories, but I think the best is that I know (without being there) you left your little piece of the world in better condition than when you found it.

I only hope you were able to leave a couple or six rookie cops with your wisdom and ability to protect and serve as well as I know you have done for these many years.

May God continue to watch over you sir and may this time be a reward for your years of service.

I commend you and wish the best. Well done sir, well done.

I worked with a guy on my shift who started in 1969. I remember thinking, "Man, that dude has been a cop forever!" That was in 1993.

Congratulations on a lengthy and memorable career. Unfortunately, they don't make them like you anymore. You will be missed.

Wow Charlie, 44 years. Congratulations on getting there, I'm sure a few of those you've helped along the way will still seek you out and I hope none of those who don't like you don't recognize you incognito.

I have to pull the pin, mandatory, in three years, seven months and 14 days. That have me walking out with just shy of 32 years and it sure don't seem that long.

Enjoy not having late noght shifts or call-outs.

Welcome to the club. Every so often some one will ask what I do all day. I can't really answer but I know I'm busy as hell. I do whatever I feel like most days and that is a great way to spend your retirement years.

Have a great easy going time in your "sunset" years.

Best wishes for your retirement, Charlie. I, too, look forward to your book. (And don't let the editors clean it up too much... I like the way you write just fine.)

Congrats on a great career! A good friend of mine retired last November. Started at 19 or so at the detention center, became an officer at 21. Did pretty much everything like you. Finished his career as school resource officer. His retirement job is being a Santa with real beard and all. Been doing it for a few years now.

Best wishes on your next chapter in life Charlie.
Keep telling us the stories about the happenings
around you. They make my day.
And Thank You Sir for your service to your department
and community.

Chuck

Hows About This Idea?

When your book is finished, hows about letting Lee sell it here on the Forum?

I think the everybody that has ever read your posts will be a customer, and that's a LOT of people. Think about it, No Advertising, a ready and eager customer base, helps the Forum and you GET RICH. You could maybe end up owning most of Southern Mississippi.

It could happen & you wouldn't even have to pay me an agents fee. ;-)

Enjoy your retirement Charlie. I pulled the plug a couple years ago, and while I miss the people I worked with, and some of the excitement, there is a lot to be said for getting to sleep late...:) Key thing is stay busy, and spend some time on yourself..
