So Wednesday I went to Shooter's and handled a 9mm Shield, I liked it and the way it felt in my hand. So yesterday I went back and bought it along with a spare 7 round magazine.

Now I will look for a holster.

Good job! IWB such as Crossbreed and Foxx Holsters are very suitable for this slim pistol. That is how I went.

No doubt you'll become another fan, owner of what may be one of the 'best in class' handguns available. The Shield is a CCW that has firepower, functional and safety reliability, and ease of operation and concealment big time in my opinion.

My holster should be ready today, so I can start some serious evaluations to see if I'm going to carry this thing or not.

I've got several hundred rounds through it so, no malfs of any sort, mainly factory ammunition but some of my reloads.

I cannot find magazines anywhere. I want at least two more 8 rounders, but the usual reliable outlets (Brownell's, Midway, etc.) won't even do a back-order right now.

Right now, I'm rather lukewarm toward it. "Striker-fired" triggers are not my favorite, although this example isn't bad at all. That manual safety has got to go. Its easily done, but I'm holding off until I decide for sure I'm keeping the pistol.

But a lot of thought seems to have gone into the pistol. It is quite user-friendly, seems to be possessed of adequate accuracy, and is not at all obnoxious to shoot... unlike a few certain competitive brands in this genre of tiny 9mm pistols.

I'll know more once I begin working hard with it. But dang, I sure could use a few more magazines...

I'm lovin' on my Lobo IWB for the Shield. I've posted enough times about it, I'm sure if I posted pics again you guys would get sick of me spouting about it. :p

With the trigger my shield has....I'm keeping my safety. It has the best striker fired trigger I have ever used. Kinda light to not have a safety imo.

The Holster Store in St. Cloud Fla has a really nice leather IWB on sale for like $18. I have one and it is great. Reinforced upper for easy re-holstering. I wanted something a little spiffier so I bought another "custom" made one from McCabes Gunleather.

Don't worry, your break down was actually a step up.
You now own the best CCW in the world.

An inexpensive alternative to the crossbreed is a ridgid holster. I bought one of their Ultracarry III's and I really like it. It has better materials and also comes with a lifetime warranty.

A great alternative to a crossbreed IWB, at a fantastic low price.

P.S. I forgot to add that I weight 145, wear low rise jeans and just a tee shirt. The Shield is invisible.
Hey! 145# and low rise jeans??? Don't you have to be 18 or 21 to buy firearms!? Way to weigh 145 Partner. That's my h.s. wrestling weight from 1991. Let's just say I'm treading lightly to not get that scale to show 200.

Thanks for the MDJ heads up. I'm looking into it now.

I ordered a couple from Southeast Outfitters a while back. They are $24.75 each and USPS shipping was $3 and some change. Very reasonable and got them 2 days after placing the order. They show to have them in stock. Here's the link: Southeast Outfitters

For holsters, I carry mine in an N82 Tactical Pro or an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 2.0 depending on the clothes I'm wearing. Both are great holsters.

Recently started wearing the most comfortable holster I've ever worn by N82 Tactical "Professional." Must practice draw due to retention notch.

to the OP congrats on your purchase! I just got mine this past wednesday and put 100 rounds through it today with no issues.
I have a N82 pro for my full size M&p .40 can you post a picture of yours with the shield in it sideways? I'm interested to see how thick it is from front to back. I ordered a stealthgear onyx for my shield but I may still order a N82 as I find mine extremely comfortable , just a bit thicker than I think it needs to be. After having mine for a while now I actually like the retention system they use.
