Hi all, I know that this is a common S&W and I should not be excited about it, but I am! I have been looking for one of these for a long time, M-38's are scarce in these here part's,(I suspect Winchester1 is snarfing them all!). It's a nickeled M-38 no dash, vintage of 1982, missed the pinned barrel by one year. Has numbered to gun grips and is in excellent condition, no box or papers as usual but had the redeeming factor of price, $350.00 out the door. It may not be pinned but no lock and no MIM parts. Looks like it was carried a little and shot a little. Posted a few pic's and I wish I could figure out the whole close up thing. Thank's all and happy hunting!

Definitely a nice one! And a nice price! If it was carried and shot, it must have been very little!

Congratulations on your find, Bob! The greatest gun out there is the one that you've long sought and are finally able to acquire!

I always thought the model 38s were, well, a little odd looking. About two years ago I finally got around to applying for my carry permit and about the same time I sent in the paperwork one like yours showed up in the display case at the range / gun shop I frequent and I bought it. Its a nickel airweight 38-1 and I've really grown to love it. I have inside and outside the pants holsters, but I really like the pocketability of the 38. Nice buy and good luck with yours.

Thanks for the kind comments all! It wasent quite as nice looking at purchase, I did cheat a bit by cleaning her up before the photo shoot, removed light carbon rings on the cylinder and such.

I am here in the Philadelphia area, And your find is NOT common, And they are a tough one to locate.
Consider yourself lucky and you got it at a good price !!
Took me 2 years to find one that was pristine and in nickel, I actually found it here on S&W forum....

You did real well!!!!
Will you carry it? Or shoot it?
Peter

Bob,
Nice catch buddy! That is a beauty, I would have snarfed it up! Where did you find it? Now we have to get together and shoot them.
The wife and I are taking a little road trip tomorow to see the Quecreek mine memorial, I'm sure there will be a few "gun shop stops" on the way. I'll let you know if I drag home anything interesting.

Beautiful Bodyguard, I've been looking for a nice, reasonably priced Bodyguard for a while now. For $350 out the door you got a smokin' deal...

Hey Jeff, Grice's of all places! Was on my way up to Belding and Mull in Phillipsburg to get some reloading supplys and something said to me, go to Clearfield Bob or was it, use the force Luke? Have a safe trip tomorrow, post some pics of your finds!
