Back on Feb 27th I had a seizure coming home from work and drove
my truck and camper off the road totaling both of them. :(

At some point the investigating Trooper took my handgun.
I literally don't remember anything, not even the ride in the helicopter.

After a few attempts to go get it I finally made it today. :)

Its nice to have it back where it belongs.:)
It was in good hands. ;)

Wow, you walked away from that mess with only a scratch! Someone was watching over you for sure. And it also demonstrates how much truck safety designs have improved! It sounds like UHP is pretty understanding as well as thorough and efficient. If you lived in the People's Republik of Kalifornia or New York, not only would your revolver have been confiscated, but you would probably have been taken to jail after you got out of the hospital! I'm glad that things turned out OK for you.

I marvel that I got out of there unharmed and very grateful that I did.

A good friend of mine who is a HUGE gun advocate that lives in CA told
me I'd need an attorney to get my gun back in CA and a good
attorney is still no guarantee that I would.
I could have picked it up 10 days after they took it while they
ran background checks on the firearm and me.

A few years ago I got pulled over by a UHP for a burned out headlight.
First words out of my mouth before he had a chance to say anything
was that I was armed with a loaded handgun and told him where it was.
He said than you and from that point it was a routine stop.
He came back, handed me my papers and said he just wanted
to let me know about my headlight.
As he started to walk away he stopped, turned around and thanked
me for taking advantage of my 2nd Amendment rights.

Another time when I told the officer that I was armed he smiled and
said, "everyone is" and smiled.

Another time the officer said, "I'll make you a deal, you don't show
me yours and I wont show you mine". Once again with a big smile.

Utah is a great place to live if you like gus.

From the foto, looks like they returned the cartridges with the handgun. Very professional, IMHO. ;)

YEARS ago I got my truck impounded by a UHP Trooper.
He took my revolver too. :D
Back then I carried my brother's M28 in the rifle scabbard in my seat cover.
When I went to their office to retrieve my gun they gave me back
the 4 rounds that were in it too.

I think its awesome that they do.

Here in California the homeless population has grown enough that the truck and camper look normal to me.
Glad youre ok, in better spirits, youre cognition has returned
And the gun is back where it belongs.

Thank you.
I remember when CA was the golden state and everyone envied the life style people who lived there lived.

Sad days :(

California is still the golden state, at least that is the color of the sidewalks when the homeless use the bathroom on them!!!

I also envy the money they get from the government without even working.
