Afternoon all,
I was wandering a bit morning before going to a funeral and stopped at a pawnshop that I don't get to visit as often as I used to. I chatted with the owner for a bit and he offered me too good a deal on this little fellow to pass up.
I guess it was most likely rebuilt by somebody that used or intended to use it for Cowboy side matches? The timing and lockup are very solid. It has been refinished but not polished out too much and all the the original markings are still visible (particularly clear and crisp on the top of the barrel). The right side grip panel has some medium sized chips, but overall it is clean and tight and just pleasingly strange. The double latches do take a little getting used to!
This one is toward the very end of the serial number run (53,3xx), so late teens manufacture according to my book. Any reason that I can't shoot it with smokeless loads as long as I keep the charges light?? I am really liking the idea of getting a retro holster of some sort for it and using it sometimes as a BBQ / Crawfish boil gun.
Thanks,
Danny
