Pretty much a new member here but have been researching S&W auto pistols the last few months and come to conclusion they make a very dependable auto pistol.I own a Kahr PM9(9mm) and a 3rd gen glock 19(9mm) which are IMHO very reliable pistols also but I wanted something different.Listed are my recent purchases S&W model 3913,S&W 5906 and S&W 3914 tsw.All I need now is a model CS9 to complete my collection:D coobie

I know exactly what you mean about going off the deep end. Prior to this year I had never owned a S&W auto pistol. I have handled a few, but never actually bought one - until ealier this year when a friend sold me a 5906.

Now I have that 5906, a 3953, a 4053, a 908, a 4013TSW, and a 5943 on layaway - all bought just this year.

Talk about an addiction...

What, no 4506 or 1006? Sorry but your just hitting the tip of the iceberg coobie!;) And do try a 6906 too, there just wicked! Dale

I've picked up a 3913NL, CS9 and a 6906 in the last 18 months. there is no cure, but being out of work will slow it down.

I hear ya. A year ago, none. Now...

Now I am looking for a 3913, 4516, and Shorty 40.

This man is DEFINITELY not married!!:D

Sorry to inform you that you have not even began to having a complete collection.

You are missing about 200 models and do not have the best gun S&W has ever made, which is the S&W 1911 with a 5" barrel.

I have been buying S&W guns for over 45 yrs and often will buy 2-3 per yr, along with other brands, and I do not feel I have scratched the surface with a decent collection.

As you age, you will want and get more.

Definitely married, for 25 years this past November 23rd :D She knew that she was marrying a shooter. She also shoots. Her gun is a Colt Diamondback.

BTW, just to keep things out in the open, I had my wife choose the combo for my gun vault.

I taught my daughter to shoot with Smith & Wessons.

I've been a Smith fan since I was a kid. I bought my first 3rd Gen Smiths (a 5906 and 4506) back in 89 when they came out. They tend to add up. As a kid (born in 1958) I would have killed for a Model 19. I lusted after a Model 28 that sat in a case in a local shop for years in the early 70's not to actually end up with one until last year. I watched Magnum Force in the movie theater and was never the same. I shot my first handgun as an Explorer with a police department, that gun being a Model 39. I depend upon on an M&P 9 Compact and 686 Plus 2.5" on a daily basis. Smith & Wesson is in my blood.

Somehow I managed to go from NO gen3's to a 5906,4006,1006, and a 4566TSW in about 4 months. The fact that they averaged less than $400 apiece definately had a bearing on the acquisition decision. I was very lucky to get a very nice 1006 at a killer price. I probably would have balked ay paying the going price for one. Anyway, I'm able to have one in each caliber for about the cost of one pretty nice 1911. They make great range guns as well as great SD/HD guns. While they aren't exactly bullseye guns, all mine shoot very accurately except the 4006, and that may be me instead of the gun. I don't really like the .40 round that well and don't shoot it as much as the others. I really love the 1006, but I hate chasing the brass. The 1006 can make you chase brass a long ways.

I'm just starting, this year started with a full size 1911, 6 inch 629 and last week a 22A. Have to wait and see what 2011 brings.
