I have an Yugo M57 in 7.62 X 25.

If your not into the surplus military rifles and handguns your missing out on some history you can own, touch, shoot. Just dabble a little into them.

Tokarev

Well, thanks to you guys, I just got this thing...

And a few boxes of PPU 7.62x25 for like $17/box of 50 ea.

Zastava's newer manufacture M57. Serial number is sub-2000. Date of manufacture is 2012.

Have fun at the range:) Ear plugs a must, and, if possible, touch a few off in low light conditions with some other shooters near by. The big "BOOM" and the 2 foot fireball from the muzzle will entertain the crowd, and will have them wanting to see the Tok and ask questions:p

I think the Soviets tried out a selectfire pistol w/detachable shoulder stock (Stechken sp?) when they decided to replace the Tok.
It too was in 7.62cal but hard to control. I believe it was then made in 9mm Mak and still issued on a somewhat limited basis along with the Makarov.

Seems like they could have easily changed the Tok over to 9mm? if thats all they saw as a problem was the caliber. But something in their Soviet heads told them the pistol itself needed replacing.

Here's one of mine that I picked up several years ago. A C&R license comes in handy. The Yugo is my favorite. Rich.

Just bought two spare M57 unissued Zastava surplus mags from Wideners (or rather, they just arrived). Yay.
