I have arranged a forum discount for ammo for a limited time!!

My 500 rounds of .38spl arrived just a few minutes ago.

Ordered last Friday.

Haven't had a chance to crack open the ammo cans they came in but will soon.

I snoozed so I lose. :p

$56 for 250 ct 40sw 165 FMJs? Never saw a deal better than that. Got it bookmarked.

Nice find mate. :)

Frustrating return

I placed an order for 100 rds of 30-06 ammo. All the correspondence from MassAmmo indicated that the 30-06 ammo order had been received and was on its way. Unfortunately, I received 30-30 instead. I called MassAmmo customer service about the error and was provided a return label via email. The CS rep told me that UPS would pick up the wrong ammo the next day which they did not. Called again and was told UPS will be notified to pick up the following day which they did not. Left message and email for CS rep again and now waiting for their response. They won't ship the correct order until UPS notifies them that they've picked up the first shipment. So, I'm without the ammo and play tag with them. Not very professional.

Sounds like it's more a UPS issue.
In some places UPS will NOT pick up ammo (or firearms). That in those areas, they need to be brought to a UPS facility and dropped off. You may want to call your local UPS agent and see if this is indeed what their issue is with your situation.

OR... Since you have the prepaid shipping label, go ahead and take it to UPS.
I know it sucks to actually have to drop it off, but if you want it get swapped, it may be what you need to do.

Mass Ammo shipping replacement

I just received an email from CS rep advising they are shipping out the correct ammo and will continue to work with UPS to pick up the return package. They are offering me free shipping on my next order. Mass Ammo just moved a few notches on my like scale.
If UPS doesn't pick up by Friday, I'll have to make a trip to the UPS store.

Oh... If you do need to go to UPS to drop it off, you might want to take the time to check if ANY UPS Store (store front) will accept it, or if you need to go to a 'Depot' Office.

When Springfield was doing their XD-S Recall, at first, MANY of the 'Stores' wouldn't accept Firearms. They ended up needing a Special letter from Corporate saying it was okay "In This Instance". Same goes for drivers picking up the recalled XD-S. They needed special dispensation from above.

While I believe Springfield used FedEx, instead of UPS, being firearm/ammo related, you MAY encounter the same resistance, if you just go to one of the Stores. This may also be why nobody's coming to pick it up.

Hopefully this won't be an issue though.

Got my .40 165gr HST's in, no problem. Been wanting to try them, and now am able without dropping huge $.
Can't wait to get out and see if they run ok, hopefully I found my new SD round.
Thanks again Mystro.

Better than expected

I received the correct 30-06 shipment plus an additional 30 rds for the inconvenience of receiving the wrong ammo, plus free shipping on my next order. What could be better than that? The CS rep emailed me that UPS does not pick up in my area so I'll be going to the city to drop off the 30-30 ammo at the UPS Store.

I am happy about the outcome of this transaction with Mass Ammo.

Followup with 30-06 ammo purchased from MassAmmo.

After firing a number of rounds from 2 different rifles, I noticed that the spent primers were flattened - a sign of over-pressure. I decapped some of the spent cartridges and the primer has a noticeable flared end.

I contacted MassAmmo to explain what I have noticed and they told me that the ammunition were "Federal Factory Ammunition repackaged into the ammo cans because the boxes were scratched but the ammunition was unharmed."

I contacted Federal Cartridge who advised that they are unable to help since there is no lot number associated with the ammo. "Without the original packaging we can to get the lot number off the package, be extremely cautious of re-packaged ammo because we do not know what the cause is for the repackaging such as a flood, fire or etc."

Caveat emptor.
