I have joined the Model 30 club

Just a quick mention, but I did take the 32 shown above to the range yesterday and put 50 rounds of my reloaded ammo through it. I was really surprised how well that little thing shot. I was only shooting at 5 yards, but once I figured out where to hold it was right on.

I had put some orange nail polish on the front sight, but removed that after I got home. I'm going to try it again next trip. Whoever said they're addictive called it right.

This model 30-1 belonged to my late brother-in-law. His father was a Maine State Trooper, and he carried it as an off duty piece. There are a few blemishes in the finish, and the stocks are somewhat worn. However, there is no visible turn line, so I don’t think it was shot very much.

Serial number dates it to 1969:or 1970

My sister gifted it to me after my brother-in-law’s untimely death in January. RIP Jeff…

I picked it up today. A little Flitz and a little Ren Wax and it was looking pretty good.

The grips are numbered to the gun and there’s an N on the grip frame and under the barrel. The grip pin thingy was gone, but the grips went on nice and tight with its new BK installed.

I have a stash of R-P .32 Longs and some PMC .32 ACPs. Wednesday is range day so I’ll see if it shoots then.

The 19-4 that started all this was gone, but the $129 Safety Hammerless was still there. I was surprised to see this holster worn but tight DS hadn’t sold.

It shoots!

The vintage R-P .32 Longs all went off and landed in a decent group at 15 yards. Almost no recoil and a very subdued report.

The ACPs worked well, with one that just wouldn’t go off despite a solid hit. Good for the range but I probably won’t carry them.

I may try some Buffalo Bores in it before I put it in my pocket for fun.
