I needed another 9mm like a submarine needs a screendoor. But I have always thought NOTHING fit my hand better than a S&W #39-2 and a BHP. This one dates to 1981. It needs a bit of polishing and the stocks refinished but I will get around to that. IIRC, this is the sixth #39-2 I have owned.

i bet there are more people than you think who have no willpower when it comes to guns. I somehow have 2 nearly identical guns bought within one week of each other (what to do with the spare?).
Nice looking gun there

Will power... I've got all in the world, till a Triple Lock with a reasonable Buy It Now price comes along. Should be here in a couple of days!

Gorgeous 39, and I couldn't agree with your more about the BHP.

great gun you got post when you clean it up.I have 2 39-2s.I feel your pain. I have several 9mms and have added 2 more this month.

We are all powerless when the S&W Siren sings her song. The problem is that she never shuts up. Enjoy that classic and remember that you can never truly have too many 9's.

That is a VERY petty Model 39-2. I love them and would submit easily if one like that were to show up. Unfortunately at the last 800 table gun show I went to, there were no Model 39s, and only one Model 59; it came home with me to keep my three other Model 59s company.

There should probably be a "Model 39 Owners Anonymous" organization here. When I was a young fellow, my Model 19 and I wouldn't have been caught in the same room with one, but over the years I have developed an odd soft spot for them. I wish I knew why. :o

By any objective standard, they should be considered terribly outdated in today's world. Nevertheless, I enjoy the silly things.

I don't think I've ever had another semi-auto that fits my hand as well as the 39-2. What an amazing gun, it's well designed and beautifully made. I've got my first one - and am in the hunt for others.....:D

Don't let me have cash in my pocket and walk up to something I can't post about in the 1980 to the present section... ;)

If you "can't take it with you" you might as well not take a Smith as not take the cash. In the meantime though you will have use of a fine firearm as opposed to just so much green paper!

Does my philosophy have a defect in it anywhere?

Y'all have it wrong! It's "Won't Power" you're talking about... and it appears the better part of you have plenty of "Will Power". That's why each of you can enjoy these finely made S&W necessities.

Are you kidding...

I started with a 4566TSW...soon after 3953...later 5946...a bit later 469....a bit more later 5903...recently a second 4566TSW...awaiting delivery of a 669...I need help!!!

...finding a CS9 that is...lol..or CS40...or a CS45...lol

Will power defined: Its the POWER you derive when you decide I WILL buy another gun today! :D Hey, works for me every time!!

Would LOVE to acquire a Model 39. Up here in Northcentral AZ they draw a real premium... IF you can find one! Thats a beauty should look fantastic after you "perty" her up.
