I Just Bought A S & W 646 Performance Center. Help!

I love my 646. I have always heard the production run was 300 of the underlug, 300 of the slab sides.

I shoot mine with the Rimz polymer full moon clips.

Well Roy Jinks says the PC slab side ran to 160 serial number. Who knows where the serial only ran to 121 from my seller. I have heard that number elsewhere as well. It does not matter either way to me. I just wanted the PC model with case and papers

Still a little confused. AFAIK, nobody makes a speed loader for .40 S&W. I see a double speed loader carrier/holder in your photograph, which could be utilized to carry clipped ammo - is that what you are referring to?

As I said, available for any questions you may have, once you have the gun in hand.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

Sorry, having a combination brain fart & senior moment explaining it. The full moon clips are in the speedloader cases. I've always thought of full moon clips as the ultimate speedloader but obviously, they're not HKS.

Now where the hell is my Ensure shake .....;)

At one time I had two of the standard models.
I sold one unfired one many years ago for $550.

I did a little work on the other one and shot it several years in IDPA.
Wallt Birdsong did the cylinder in his "Black T" and assured me it would really hold up well.
It looked good for a few thousand rounds but at least it's different from the other 299.

I don't believe it's had more than a few hundred jacketed bullets shot in it.
For several years I did the website for my late friend Bob Palermo and part of the payment was in bullets.
At the time I stopped shooting it I had put over 20K 165 TCBB bullets through it.
It's a little loose now.

The DA is about six pounds and using Federal primers I don't ever recall having a misfire.

The 165 Penn TCBB were pushed by a stout load of WW231 and that load from the bench at 25 yards was more than adequate for any IDPA stage I ever encountered.

I set this 617 NoDash up for some cheap practice when I didn't have time to load for the 646.
Loaded weights are within a couple of ounces so it handled very similiar.
Of course, there was no recoil and the 617 trigger wasn't as light as the 646 as I wanted to make sure it went bang every time.
However, for the most part, it felt and handled like the 646.

I shot it a lot and had a lot of fun shooting it.
I haven't shot it in years and recently told my wife and a good, much younger friend who really likes it that when I leave to be with my Lord it's his.

I hope you enjoy you PC model as much as I did my standard one.
Cheers
James
