I might start offering these for sale once I figure a price. Maybe around $300. It's single thickness unlined and patterned after the Brill holster and a wider version of a Lawrence belt. It was supposed to have twelve loops but I cut the tooling pattern accidently for fourteen. This rig is exceptionally comfortable and practical.

Wow. Sweet work. Having done some of that work many years ago, I can tell you have a lot of time in it. By the way, would someone please tell me what a B-B-Q gun is? I must be living under a rock.

palmetto99, I'm a little late to the B-B-Q but a B-B-Q gun is the fancy flamboyant outfit a southwestern lawman ( or anyone, I guess) wears to a Sunday B-B-Q to try to out bling your pals. Then they wear their plainer guns during the week to shoot border jumpin' drug smugglers and gangsters.
 
Very nice work. You can be proud of that rig at any BBQ or anywhere else for that matter.

If you decide to offer them for sale I think I want one. That looks nicer than some other custom makers I have seen. Great job you did.
 
Nice rig !! What is the width on the belt. It must be close to 3", a width that I've always had an affinity for. That belt fits the holster perfectly so that it doesn't rock and the cylinder top is at the top of the belt where it belongs. Color is great and I like the broken corner buckle. Count me in for that price. Would be interested if you could make it for an N frame, since I'm short on SA guns. Only have a new Ruger flattop in 44 spl and I have an El Paso rig for it and I can tell you it doesn't look any better than the one here.

Neetsfoot oil was applied to the belt and it was laid out in the sun for an hour or so. The oil is then soaked in so I repeated that process five times. Or just until I liked the color. Then after a leather sheen is applied. The tongue and billet only took two aplications of oil and sunlight. I don't know why the tongue got dark so fast, it's from the same hide as the belt. You just have to watch it closely till it matches in color. The holster is from a slightly thinner hide and I put it in the sun oiled for only 45 mins. or so. All leather seems to react differently to this process. The end result here isn't a perfect match in color by any means, but it was close enough even for overly self critical little ol' me.
Thanks again for the compliments, everyone. I make holsters and sell them on these forums but I don't hang out on a regular basis with people like you who are into this stuff and have the same interests. I really get a kick when someone starts a leather thread and we all post our homemade rigs on here.
I worked on this off and on for a week and a half or so. If I subtracted the time for leather to dry and sit in the sun I bet I could make this in about three days.

Holy nice Batman! Ya did a real nice job on that one Matt. You can tell your a shooter too by the placement of the ammo loops.
