I never have been much of a movie goer. I went strickly to see the 3D and special effects. Now I know there was a couple 3D movies out in the 50s but I never seen them. The only 3D I had ever seen was a comic book a 100 years ago that I vaguely remembered. After seeing this movie I can see where it will probley be considered a huge landmark film starting another leap in film technology.
About 10 years ago when my dad was in his late 80s I went back to wisconsin, picked him up and took him to california. We went to my sisters house and her young grandkids put in a video of arnold swartnagger where they shoot each other and it looked like solder ozzing out instead of blood etc. Dont know the name of the movie, but sure most of you do. Dad was the most conservative no nonsense old timer you ever met. He turned to me and said some rough stuff downing the impossable movie. My nephews overheard and they put in Bambi for the young grandkids. The brats watched it a couple minuets then yelled, who would belive that!

I enjoyed it and thought it portrayed a consistent Hollywood idea, that armed citizens can and will defend there homeland from outside invaders. Funny that Hollywood continues to tell this in film and deny it in speeches but thats the movies.
