I KNEW IT! Still did it.

Get a large magnet and start searching the dark recesses of your work area. You have joined the elite "Legion of Spring and Small Screw Searchers". We've all been distinguished members. I still have a Kel-tec PF-9 spring somewhere in my workshop. It's been there for years.

Fixed it for you :D  .

An added note. When I asked my wife to help, she looked at the one place I had given up on, a bookshelf full of folders, various size books, etc. Lots of places to hide. She said, "I'm not looking in there!", promptly looked over at the window ledge and said. "Here it is." It was. She always does that, after I have spent hours looking, she hones in like she has radar.

My wife is the same way. It scares me a little how good she is at finding things.

I always have a cat near me when working with small parts of guns, they run right to it when it hits the floor, chair, etc., then I have a telescoping magnet to pick it up.

Did that once with the recoil spring on a Sig 220. Sig sent me a replacement for free, but 9 months later, I found the spring under a couch. LOL. GARY

I lost the takedown lever retaining spring on my 40c when installing the FSS. Looked for hours, got depressed and gave up. Was going to call CS the next morning but when I got undressed for bed it fell out of the front of my pants. I swear, it was NOT there before that. It just wasn't!

I will admit to doing something similar. While attempting to lighten the 14lb pull on a SW40VE, one of the springs from the sear block assembly sprang away from me, never to be seen again. After many fruitless hours of searching, I gave up & called the mother ship. I talked to a real nice guy in CS, who told me he was sending me a return tag. I explained again that it was me that had screwed the pooch, & I just wanted to buy the spring. He said just send it to us & we'll take a look at it. About three weeks later my Sigma was returned, good as new. Well, as good as a Sigma can be anyway. No charge!

Been there done that..wow, I thought I was the only one to loose that spring into that black hole.

JWH321 coined it as the "Legion of Spring Searchers"
Engineer1911 elaborated it. "Legion of Spring and Small Screw Searchers".
Hence "LSSSS"
Funny, but oh so true!
Just torn my bench area apart 2 days ago looking for small spring that took off. Found it after 2 hour search. I have been a member in good standing for at least 40 years! LOL!
