I was checking the ammo case today at Wal-mart to see what if anything was in stock. I had hoped to buy a couple bricks of .22 rimfire. No such luck the .22 ammo was all gone. There was ample .22 mag though. Also a lot of .45 acp and .38 special. I decided to buy a 100 ct .38 special and hunted down an associate to unlock the case. As he was doing this I asked if there was any .22 rimfire in the back room. He told me no that all ammo was stocked.
Then he told me that that there would not be any more .223 ammo for sale. He said that the Federal government had canceled their order for .223 and everyone else's order.
He said it was becuse of alll the bad things going on. I just nodded my head in agreement and went smiling on my way.
I should have stopped and asked where he got this information, but he was about 20 and I am old. I am sure that I don't know anything compared to him.

Washington post reported that Biden had said that there were a few things they could implement by executive order and did not need to wait on congress. Scary stuff.

My favorite FFL has an opinion that the .223 could go away in favor of the 5.56 and his recommendation was to only buy a 5.56. This way you can use either but if you go with a 223 you could get burned if the .223 really does go away.

I cannot even imagine that .223 will go away. there are a lot of rifles (not AR's) that take .223. Of course it'd be simple to ream the chamber for 5.56.

Yea, that sounds 100% bogus. But it doesnt surprise me that idiots at gun stores, or wal-mart would spread rumors

I think that there is a lot of silliness out there. Rumors about everything. In the end, I don't think a lot is going to come of this. There is a limit to what the President can do by executive order and anything he does will likely be challenged in court.

There is a lot of panic buying going on right now, of guns, accessories, and ammunition. In six months or so, people are going to be trying to unload stuff they paid too much for.

I just read an article on yahoo news, about upcoming congressional talks on gun control.. "To sell such changes, the White House is developing strategies to work around the National Rifle Association (NRA), the powerful gun lobby.

They include rallying support from Wal-Mart Stores Inc and other gun retailers for measures that would benefit their businesses, the Post said. "..does this last paragraph sound like some kind of tax incentive/penalty to anyone else?..

I wouldn't be surprised, but if I were them I'd be wary. Nothing seems to be as it appears with the government lately. I'd be afraid of them signing on to something and then finding out that there really is no incentive, just the restrictions.

And in other unsubstantiated gun news, 4 out of 5 dentists surveyed have approved .22 CTG as the best round for bear ... grizz, teddy, koala, panda, Yogi ... you name it, the .22 CTG will deal with it.

Them's the bear facts ...

I just came back from the local Home Depot buying some garbage bags. I heard there that starting on January 15, all guns manufactured or imported will be fitted with a tracking device. If the tracking device signals the Government that the gun is within 1000 yards of a school, then the Government will automatically lock the gun so that it can't be discharged. This has to be true, because if the kid who directed me to the plastic garbage bags doesn't know what he's talking about, then who does?

I went to my local Wal-Mart yesterday.......not to shop for ammo, as I'm well stocked:).......but just to get some basic house hold items.

Just for the pure heck of it I decided to wander over to the ammo cabinet just for a look. No .22 LR. None at all. All they DID have in rimfire was a few packs of CCI shot shells and Remington .22 short........lots of .22 short. Must have been 50+ boxes of short rounds.

Amazing because .22 LR has always been in stock here.

It's an attack on private gun sales. By making private sales difficult or illegal, they are hoping to gain support from retailers by convincing them it will boost their gun sales.

Wheel gun....Thanks for a great video and a great recommendation for the Second Ammendment.I sent it for wide distribution in an email.

Since my Mini 14 Tactical is now a $700.00 club to me, since I too am completely out of .223 ammo, I think I'll just stock up on the PLENTIFUL shotgun shells for my old, cut down 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge. I kinda figure it will do enough damage if I ever need it. This hysteria is really starting to piss me off.

Wal-Mart out of 22LR - Time to sell some collector tins.

Wal-Mart out of 22LR - Time to sell some collector tins.

I have some of those Remington 5 Pound collector tins full of 22LR ammo from long ago.

Will take them to gun show next weekend. Price will be set by Dewey, Cheatam & Howe.

Will NOT sell my standard velocity target ammo.
